Accumulating Character: Time and Ethos in Rhetorical Theory Chair: Dana Anderson Committee: John Schilb, Freya Thimsen, Justin Hodgson, and Scot Barnett "Accumulating Character" argues that both rhetoric and theories of ethos can gain complexity by understanding how non-kairotic conceptions of time—especially ones that emerge from the ancient concept of chronos—impact rhetorical ecologies.
